The flora that is present in the park is both divers and impressive. Close to 90 different plant species were identified by the students from the CÉGEP de Sherbrooke during a census in 2020. A terrain that changes with the altitude, diverse types of soils and soil humidity (depending on the proximity to one of the numerous springs), the presence of an expanse of open water, and areas exposed to both extremes of weather and strong light, create growing conditions favourable to a great variety of vegetation. The shade of the deciduous forest fosters some of the prettiest spring flowers of Quebec such as Painted Trilliums, Lady Slippers, and Purple Fringed Orchids. A wide variety of ferns grows in the park including the Common Polypode or Virginia Fern that carpets many of the enormous boulders, adding to the luxuriant verdure of the woods. Consult the list of observed species in the link above and our interpretive panels in the park to learn more!
